About S3 (Singam 3) movie : S3 also known as Singam 3 is a 2016 Indian Tamil action film written and directed by Hari. A sequel to the 2013 film Singam II and the third film in the Singam series. The film stars Suriya, Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan. Devi Sri Prasad was replaced by Harris Jayaraj as the music director for the film. Principal photography commenced on 7 January 2016 in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The film's Tamil Nadu distribution rights were sold for a record-breaking ₹410 million (US$6.1 million).
Director Hari tells that perhaps for the first time in India, the Singam franchise is a true sequel. The story of Singam 3 is connected to the previous two films and it will take off from where Singam 2 ended.
The film began shooting in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh from 7 January 2016 with scenes involving Suriya and Anushka Shetty. The new schedule saw a series of new cast members join the franchise, with actors Krish, Soori, Chaams and Robo Shankar portraying police officers while Shruti Haasan was playing a CBI officer. Vivek, who portrayed the police officer Erimalai in the first two films, declined to reprise his role in this film as he felt he did not have a meaty role in it.
The film's soundtrack is scored by Harris Jayaraj, marking his fourth collaboration with Hari after Saamy, Kovil and Arul and marking his eighth collaboration with Suriya after Kaakha Kaakha, Ghajini, Vaaranam Aayiram, Ayan, Aadhavan, 7aum Arivu and Maattrraan.
